Frequently Asked Questions
Important information about licenses, compatibility, files, and service coverage.
Is the Windows license included?
No. This product covers Live-Tech’s technical labor. A required Windows Pro license, product key, or other paid software license must be supplied or purchased separately unless the product order specifically states otherwise.
Can every Windows 10 PC be upgraded to Windows 11?
No. The computer must meet Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements. Live-Tech will review compatibility before proceeding and explain the available options if the computer is not eligible.
Does the service cover Windows Home to Pro?
Yes. Live-Tech can perform the technical edition-upgrade labor when the current Windows Home installation is properly activated and a valid Windows Pro license is available.
Will my existing files and programs remain?
A supported in-place upgrade is normally intended to preserve the existing Windows installation, files, settings, and compatible applications. However, no upgrade is risk-free, and an independent backup is strongly recommended before work begins.
Does this include a complete data backup?
No. Backup storage, cloud-backup subscriptions, file transfers, and complete backup services are not included unless purchased separately.
What if the upgrade fails because of another computer problem?
Existing malware, operating-system corruption, insufficient storage, failing hardware, incompatible drivers, or unsupported applications may require additional troubleshooting or repair. Live-Tech will advise you before separately billable work proceeds.
Can this service be completed remotely?
Most standard Windows upgrades can be assisted remotely when the computer has stable internet access and remains powered on. Physical hardware work or inaccessible computers may require a different service arrangement.
Is this service for one computer?
Yes. Each quantity purchased covers the upgrade labor for one eligible computer unless otherwise specified in the order.
Backup and Compatibility Notice
Customers should maintain a current backup of important files before any operating-system or edition upgrade. Compatibility cannot be guaranteed for every computer, application, printer, accessory, or specialty device. Windows licenses, product keys, hardware, backup services, data recovery, onsite service, and repair of unrelated pre-existing problems are not included unless purchased separately. Live-Tech will advise the customer before additional billable work proceeds.
