The tools needed to manage more than connections

The SG2218 helps businesses separate network traffic, prioritize important applications, monitor performance, and reduce exposure to common internal network threats.

01

18 total Gigabit interfaces

Connect local devices through 16 copper Gigabit ports while using two dedicated SFP slots for compatible fiber or Gigabit uplinks.

02

36 Gbps switching capacity

Provides the internal switching capacity required to move full-duplex Gigabit traffic across all 18 interfaces.

03

Centralized Omada management

Manage supported Omada switches, access points, and gateways through one centralized controller and management interface.

04

VLAN traffic separation

Separate employee, guest, voice, camera, server, management, and IoT traffic with support for up to 4,000 VLAN groups.

05

Static routing and DHCP tools

Route selected IPv4 and IPv6 traffic internally and use DHCP server or relay features for a more efficient network design.

06

Advanced network protection

ACLs, 802.1X, DHCP snooping, ARP inspection, source guard, port security, storm control, and port isolation help secure the LAN.

Flexible connectivity

Right-sized for growing business networks

Use standard Gigabit Ethernet for local equipment and compatible SFP transceivers for fiber uplinks, remote network closets, or building-to-building connections.

Local wired connections 16 × RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet
Fiber or uplink connectivity 2 × SFP Gigabit SFP slots
SFP transceivers and fiber patch cables are not included. Select modules based on the connector, fiber type, wavelength, and required transmission distance.

A strong fit for small and midsize networks

The SG2218 is designed for organizations that need more control than an unmanaged switch but do not require 24 copper ports, PoE, or 10G uplinks.

  • Professional and medical offices
  • Small server rooms and network closets
  • Retail and hospitality locations
  • Schools and training spaces
  • Workstation, printer, and server connections
  • Voice, camera, guest, and IoT traffic separation
  • Multi-location Omada networks

Deploy it properly with Live-Tech

Frequently asked questions

Important information before ordering

Does the SG2218 provide PoE power?

No. The SG2218 does not supply PoE power. Wireless access points, phones, cameras, and other PoE equipment require separate power, PoE injectors, or a PoE-capable switch.

Are the SFP slots 10 Gigabit SFP+?

No. The SG2218 includes two Gigabit SFP slots. Businesses requiring 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks should select an appropriate 10G-capable switch.

Are SFP transceivers included?

No. SFP transceivers and fiber patch cables are purchased separately. The correct module depends on the fiber type, connector, wavelength, transmission distance, and equipment installed at the opposite end.

Can the SG2218 operate without an Omada controller?

Yes. It supports standalone management through its web interface, CLI, SNMP, and RMON. Centralized cloud access, the Omada app, and certain automated features require a compatible Omada controller.

What is the difference between the SG2218 and SG3428?

The SG2218 provides 16 Gigabit RJ45 ports, two Gigabit SFP slots, and 36 Gbps of switching capacity. The larger SG3428 provides 24 Gigabit RJ45 ports, four Gigabit SFP slots, and 56 Gbps of switching capacity. Neither standard model provides PoE.

Is this a full Layer 3 switch?

The SG2218 is a smart managed switch with L2/L2+ capabilities, including IPv4 and IPv6 static routing. It is not intended to replace a full Layer 3 core switch when advanced dynamic-routing protocols are required.

Is the SG2218 suitable for an office environment?

Yes. Its fanless design provides silent operation, making it suitable for offices, network closets, and other areas where fan noise is undesirable.

Does this purchase include Live-Tech installation?

This product listing covers the SG2218 hardware and manufacturer-included accessories. Live-Tech installation, cabling, configuration, SFP modules, fiber cables, network design, and managed support are separate unless specifically included in your order or quote.

Bring professional control to your wired network

Order the Omada SG2218 today, or speak with Live-Tech about network planning, rack installation, VLAN configuration, fiber connectivity, security, and managed support.

This SG2218 model does not provide PoE output and does not include SFP transceivers or fiber cables. Its SFP interfaces support Gigabit SFP connectivity and are not 10 Gigabit SFP+ slots. Centralized management, cloud access, the Omada app, and certain automation features require a compatible Omada controller or cloud-based controller. Some features may require the latest available firmware. Professional installation and configuration are not included unless expressly stated in the order or quote.
